About
Jailbreak Surf Inn is a laid-back surf guesthouse on Himmafushi, a local island in North Malé Atoll about 15 km from Velana Airport. It is a converted Maldivian home with a simple style, set on Sosun Magu, and you can walk from the door to Jailbreaks, one of the best-known waves in the Maldives. Stays are built around surfing, with daily boat trips to nearby breaks such as Honkys and Sultans, and longer stays can include a trip to Cokes. Rooms are air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms, and guests share a lounge and a fully equipped kitchen. It suits surfers travelling solo, as a couple or in small groups who want to be close to the waves.

Two twin beds and a private bathroom, ideal for couples or surf mates.

Three twin beds and a private bathroom for groups of friends on a surf trip.
Dining & facilities
Choose Bed & Breakfast, Half Board or Full Board; surf stays come with breakfast and a daily boat trip, and full board adds lunch, dinner and up to two boat trips a day. Rooms are air-conditioned, with en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold water, and linen and towels are provided. Guests share a lounge with cable TV and a fully equipped kitchen.
Things to do
Surfing comes first: walk to Jailbreaks or take the boat to Honkys, Sultans and Cokes. The inn can also arrange snorkelling, night fishing at sunset and drift diving on the reefs of North Malé Atoll.
Getting There
Private speedboat from Velana Airport takes about 20 minutes, or about 1 hour by private dhoni. A surf guide meets you at the arrival gate.
Good to know
Himmafushi is an inhabited local island: no alcohol on the island, modest clothing in the village, swimwear on the bikini beach.
