About
OUTRIGGER Maafushivaru is on a small island in South Ari Atoll, 96 km southwest of Velana International Airport and about 25 minutes by seaplane. The island is a little over 350 metres long, ringed by a house reef, so snorkelling is right on your doorstep. Villas are split between the beach and the water, with private-pool versions of both and a two-bedroom beach villa for families. Six restaurants and bars cover a buffet, a grill, Japanese fusion and a coffee spot, and stays are on a Dine Around All Inclusive plan. Navasana Spa, a PADI dive centre, a pool, a fitness centre and the Treehouse Kids Retreat are on the island, and the resort's private island, Lonubo, is close by. It suits couples, snorkellers and divers, and families who like a smaller, easy-to-walk island.

Dining & facilities
Cuisine Gallery is the buffet restaurant, and Moodhu Grill, Art-I-San and Koto, which serves Japanese fusion, add more choice. Edgewater is the bar and Koffee 'N Chill is the place for coffee. Stays are on a Dine Around All Inclusive plan. Facilities include Navasana Spa, a swimming pool, a fitness centre and the Treehouse Kids Retreat.
Things to do
The PADI dive centre takes divers out into South Ari Atoll, and the house reef around the island is ideal for snorkelling. The resort's private island, Lonubo, is a short trip away.
Getting There
Seaplane with Trans Maldivian Airways from Velana International Airport, about 25 minutes. International flights need to land between 06:00 and 15:30 to connect.
Good to know
Seaplane luggage allowance is 20 kg checked plus 5 kg hand luggage. Return seaplanes connect with international flights departing between 09:15 and 23:00.
